How important is the A-plot?

How important is an A-plot to your enjoyment of a fanfic?

	A well-developed A-plot is essential to a good story.
	A-plots aren't necessary, but if a story has one, there should not be any plot holes.
	A-plots aren't necessary and if a story has one, I don't care if it has plot holes.
	I prefer stories that don't have A-plots.
