Summary: What if Lois forced Clark to tell her where he was at the end of the episode "The Eyes Have It"? This 30-minute-challenge lets us find out.

A 30 Min Episode Extension Challenge Fic: The Eyes Have It

Author's Notes: This was my first answer to the 30-minute challenge on the LCFanfic Yahoo Group. Although the original story posted on the list *did* get written within 30 minutes, this version has been reread and edited (Thanx Dawn & Katie!!) and I hope you enjoy it.

"If you weren't with Mayson, where have you been for the last three days?" Lois waited impatiently for Clark to answer. When she received no immediate response, she continued. "Well? You stood up Mayson and your parents. You weren't with me, or Jimmy. So, where were you?"

"I, uh," Clark stumbled. He couldn't very well tell her that he really *had* been with her whole time. He wasn't ready to reveal his secret to her just yet, was he? Could he tell her he was Superman? Maybe it was time. It certainly would make his life easier. "I can't tell you now, not here," he finally stammered. "Let me make dinner for you tonight and I'll tell you everything."

"No." Lois shook her head. "If you need to tell me in private, fine. But I am not going to wait until tonight to hear your excuse this time."

"Okay," Clark agreed and he followed Lois into the conference room, shutting the door behind them.

"All right, Clark, this better be good," Lois said, turning to face him.

"Right," Clark stalled, pacing the length of the conference table, trying to decide how and where to start. "I have wanted to tell you this for a long time, but I didn't know how you would react." He paused again, searching for words. "I guess it's better to just come right out and say it." He took a deep breath before continuing. "I am Superman."

Lois stared at Clark without speaking. At first, Clark thought she was going to hit him, but then she suddenly started laughing. "Okay, you made your point," she said between chuckles. "Where you were and who, if anyone, you were with, is your own business and I should keep my nose out of it. If you're done playing games, can we get back to work now?"
