Summary: This is a poem about Clark's frustration with Lois's love for Superman and not him, Clark, the real person. Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters of Lois and Clark all the right belong to DC comics and various other networks.

So, without further ado, I present to you

***

Lois, how much I dream of being with you, But, alas, I can't. You want Superman and I can give him to you. But, I can't. For he is not real, he's just a disguise, a façade, And nothing more than a symbol Lois, Clark Kent is real. He can give you the moon, the stars, the sun and everything under the sun. True, Superman can give you these things too, but there is something he can't give. His life. Superman belongs to the world, but Clark belongs to you. I hope, one day, you can see that. But today, I must fade into the background. And be your loyal and trustworthy best friend.
